Welcome to West Moors.....

West Moors is a delightful village located in Dorset, approximately 10 miles from Bournemouth and 100 miles southwest of London. It is predominately a residential area set upon what was once a moorland, hence it's name.

West Moors village, previously known as La More in the 14th century, Mours in the 15th century and Le Moure in the 16th century has a wealth of history associated with it. In the early years West Moors was a sparsely populated heathland hamlet at the northern end of the ancient Parish of West Parley, Dorset (Recorded in the 1086 Doomsday book as Perlai) and fell within the Hundred of Cranborne, until the end of the 1900's. .
