St Mary's Church of England First school is for children aged between 4 and 9 years as part of the Ferndown school pyramid.

We are a small school with a friendly family atmosphere. The school has a historic foundation having opened in 1896.  As a church school the education we offer is firmly rooted in the Christian principles and we have close links with St Mary's Church.  We are proud of our links with the wider community in West Moors village.  These include visits throughout the year to entertain the 'Evergreen' club and plenty of carol singing at Christmas!

Oakhurst School is part of the Ferndown 'pyramid of schools'  which consists of 9 First schools, 3 middle schools and Ferndown Upper school.

Children transfer to middle school when they are 9 and upper school then they are 13.
