WEST MOORS EVERGREEN CLUB 2008
THE CLUB FOR MEN AND WOMEN OVER 55.
The West Moors Evergreen Club was
started in 1969 by three couples living in the Village, they were Mr. & Mrs. Lambert, Mr. & Mrs. Lewis, and
Mr. & Mrs Barker. The meetings were held in Mr. & Mrs. Lamberts House they were gradually joined by friends and neighbours. It was not long before there were
too many to fit in their front room, the meetings were therefore moved to St
Johns Hall, Pinehurst Rd. By 1977 there were so many members the meetings were
moved to our present location at the Memorial Hall,
Station Rd, West Moors.
We meet the second & fourth Friday of every month from 1 30 pm to 3 30 pm except the month of August. We have either a Word Quiz, Bingo, Guess Who, Musical Quiz, sometimes we are entertained by a Choir or someone will come and give us a talk on interesting subjects.
The annual subscription is £6 and the weekly entrance fee is 50 pence to cover the cost of tea and biscuits.
We have a Coach outing the third Tuesday in every month and stop for a pre -arranged meal at a Pub and return to West Moors about 3 30 to 4 pm, we usually go out for a Cream Tea once a year.
