west moors memorial hall
The West Moors Memorial hall was built in 1929 and is held under a deed as a public charitable trust as a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of West Moors and those in the immediate vicinity. It is dedicated to the memory of those who fell in the first World War.
It recently achieved the coveted ‘Hallmark’ accreditation which is recognition that the Hall has reached the national benchmark standard required by ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England). This confirms that the Hall is maintained and run to a very high standard and it is one of very few halls in Dorset to achieve this award.
The hall is run by volunteer Trustees who are either elected annually at the AGM in April each year, or chosen from within the user groups that hire the hall on a regular basis.
The hall is situated in the heart
of the village; it is centrally heated and is already used for a variety of
regular functions, all year round.
The Memorial hall consists of three areas - the main hall which has a sprung floor that is acknowledged as one of the best dance floors in the district. It can also be used as a meeting room, or as a function room for presentations/ parties/ receptions. In addition there is a large stage suitable for theatrical productions or concerts. Full stage lighting and a sound system is available for an extra charge. A hearing loop is installed. A licence for the sale of alcohol, via a connecting counter with the adjoining social club, means that full bar facilities are available, or alternatively you can bring your own drinks.

The hall kitchen was fully refurbished to catering standards in August 2009.
Equipment includes a range of crockery and utensils, together with a refrigerator, dishwasher, gas hob and large oven, plus a microwave. There is also an automatic water boiler for that perfect brew. Use of these facilities is included in the hiring charge

In addition there is a separate meeting room which can be hired with or without the main hall. This is suitable for smaller functions.
A wireless router is installed to allow laptop pc users to freely connect to the internet by using their own equipment

Finally, the site benefits from a large parking area which is free to hall users and can accommodate up to 100 vehicles
